About the Images

The first image is a photomicrograph of a crystal of pseudoephedrine, which has been recrystalized and photographed under a microscope by Michael Davidson of Molecular Expressions. The second image is a spilled can of Zyclon B, a stabilized form of hydrogen cyanide that was used by the Nazis to kill millions of people in concentration camps such as Auschwitz during World War Two. To learn more about hydrogen cyanide, refer to Section 4: Chemical Warfare Agents.
